Ok so what is energy and is it really that woo woo?
To break it down, everything has an energy field - rocks, plants, people, animals, water, the Earth, the planets, our thoughts, emotions...everything, and this is quantifiable by science.
And that energy cannot be destroyed, but it can change, for better and for worse, and we as individuals have the power to consciously alter these energies. Some cool ways to transform challenging energies we are encountering is with music, dance, laughing, doing things we enjoy for example. If I am really stuck with something I find I need to completely break my routine with something distracting for a little while - a holiday always shifts majorly stuck things!
The concept of using energy for healing is this - that our bodies are surrounded by an energy field, and that when we are ill, often before we are ill, this will be showing up in our energy field, and its energy centres (chakras), and if this is not altered, then the physical body will follow into illness or similar soon after. I am sure there are many schools of thought on this but this is what I have been exposed to. And that by not addressing negatives going on in our lives that this weakens our energy field.
For many years I was quite anti-Reiki, because in my own personal experience there was plenty of healing Universal energy available so I felt it was just another "system" in place for someone to make money from! Until I experienced it for myself and found that it was different and quite refined and had so many more benefits. So I ended up studying and working my way through the three Reiki levels to master/teacher level, then studying further in other aspects of Reiki, and find it has so many incredible uses in day to day life.
What to do though, for those who have not been Reiki attuned? Because being able to offer hands on healing is such a gift for the receiver and a joy for those who give it, with so many benefits.
First of all, be sure you are not using your own personal energy or you will very quickly become drained to the detriment to your own energy field. You can set an intent either in your mind or out loud to connect to the Universal healing energy source, or to the Christ light (particularly beautiful and I often combine this with Reiki at the same time).
Next visualise the energy of the Earth coming up through your feet and making its way up through the crown of your head to above, then see it meeting a golden white healing energy you have called on from above, merging and coming down through your crown to your feet. Many of you will feel your hands heat up or begin to tingle - now the energy is available for you to use by placing your hands on or nearby yourself for personal healing, an animal or another person (always only with their permission). Move your hands as you feel guided and once you feel the energy subside you could move them elsewhere.
This is just a very basic guide, but one that anyone can try out to get things started, then there are SO many possibilities after this.
Pictured here is my beautiful mare Darcy who was Reiki attuned (this pic was taken straight after her attunement by my Reiki teacher, the amazing Deniz Akan of Dimensional Healing - hence her zen like state). She was attuned because she asked me to be for her own personal reasons and this served her well for many years. Animals can be attuned to Reiki with their permission and being attuned has many benefits for them also, particularly for therapy horses working with people.
Unfortunately Darcy was laid to rest years ago now after some 6 years with me. She was a mysterious horse who came to me in a way that is another story. She had encountered an extreme case of abuse, but she was a very powerful being, with her own destiny for a reason, and the one who taught me the very most about energy and healing with very clear instructions always that I would later verify in books when researching the subjects.
When she passed, a friend who is psychic told me she saw white feathers blowing which I did not understand at the time. The very next day I looked up and the sky was filled with white feathers which is the other pictures here that I took. To me it was Darcy's sign that all was as it should be.
When you open your mind to anything being possible, it truly is.
