easily find out what your animal friend is feeling…

Gus being ridden by my daughter

Do you know there is a good chance you can find out for yourself how your animal friend is feeling, whether emotionally, mentally or physically?

Many years ago, my daughter's Brumby pony, Gus, had been going through some back pain issues as we had been unravelling the fears he had been carrying in his body. And fears in the body very often manifest as pain.

My daughter repeatedly kept coming to me and asking if he was ok yet or not. Each time I would tune in and give her the answers until one day I said no, you can do this yourself. She did not think she could, and this is what I said to her...

Close your eyes and feel your feet on the ground. Notice your breathing and slowly scan through your entire body from head to toe. Just notice how you feel today in this moment, any niggles or aches, any emotions, just notice, don't try to change any of it...

Now that you have your own baseline, either open your eyes and look at Gus, or just think about him. Go into your heart space and feel the love you have for him and just pause and feel into that for a moment, for love will soften your entire being. Now you are connected to Gus. Be open to receiving in any way that you may or may not expect.

Next, start to slowly scan through your body again and notice what is different to before... what has changed?

Immediately my daughter stated that her lower back was hurting.

That was the answer she had been looking for. This was the pain Gus was feeling in his body. She had not believed that she could find the answer, and neither do many people, but it is possible if we open ourselves, give it a go and practice. It is sometimes just knowing the tools to use.

Quite often we can also be picking up on our animal friends unconsciously, and they also on us - this can be referred to as "mirroring" and we can believe that something going with our own emotions or health is ours, when in fact it belongs to another. People can go for years with health complaints they believed were their own, but they were just feeling for another. And vice versa with our animals who take things on of ours!

This happens for a reason - natural empathy - for some this is stronger than for others, and because we may need to know or do something for that other being. When we find ourselves feeling a bit different to usual (which can happen in a multitude of different ways including physically, emotionally, mentally and more - for we are all individuals) it is a good practice to stop and ask ourselves if it is ours or not and see what pops into our awareness so we can follow the path to what we need to do. It may be that we need to give someone a message or obtain a product to help our animal with a problem, or book a consult about something.

A good rule of thumb is to always follow the good feelings to get the answers and know you are on the right path. By that I mean when things start to feel better, we tend to be on track. I hope that this has been helpful x
